Public hearing planned on juvenile offender legislation

HARTFORD -  The Connecticut Sentencing Commission is hosting a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Legislative Office Building on the topic of juvenile sentence reduction. 
The hearing will be at 300 Capitol Avenue, Room 2D at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in speaking should register by 9:30 a.m.
At a meeting on Dec. 20, the commission will consider a draft proposal, "to allow a person sentenced to a lengthy term of imprisonment for a crime committed when the person was under 18 to seek release under parole supervision after serving a substantial portion of the sentence."
